Some useful tips for visitors

Free domain access

All electronic versions of International Journal of Geomagnetism and Aeronomy are protected by Copyright Law. American Geophysical Union is the copyright owner and has the sole right for distribution the Journal over the world. Full text documents are accessible only for subscribers (see Subscribe page for detail).

AGU is willing to provide a free access to the International Journal of Geomagnetism and Aeronomy for users from Former Soviet Union and Eastern European countries. From the Free Domain List one may know if his/her client computer belong to the one of listed domains.

Free access is provided by the mirror site installed at the Geophysical Center, Russian Academy of Sciences (http://elpub.wdcb.ru/journals/ijga/). The contents of this server is identical to the contents of AGU server (http://www.agu.org/journals/ijga/). GCRAS server, as well as the AGU server, provides free access to abstracts, tables of contents, and ancillary information for everybody. Free access to full-text documents is provided only for visitors from Free Domain List. If you are sure that your computer is connected to one of "free domains", and you have no access to full-text documents please use the following procedure:

1. Click on CHECK DOMAIN button here

2. Small window which will appear after clicking on button contains IP address (second line) and domain name (third line) of your computer.

3. If the last fragment of your domain name is included into the Free Domain List this means that you have free access to full-text papers at the elpub.wdcb.ru server. Go ahead and read them!

4. If third line contains no domain name or it is replaced with the IP address this means that network parameters of your computer are not included into DNS database. Please ask the system administrator of your local computer network to include your computer into DNS database, then try this procedure once again.

5. If for some reasons your computer may not be included into DNS database (due intranet policy or public Internet restrictions) you may request free registration on journal's mirror site filling in FDL Registration Form

Structure of IJGA papers (for issues prior to 2004)

Online versions of papers published in the International Journal of Geomagnetism and Aeronomy are presented in HTML 3.2 format enhanced with JavaScript 1.2. HTML versions are accompanied with Postscript and PDF versions which are composed under agupaper T_EX template with through-the-volume pagination.

Links to different versions can be found at the bottom of each paper. Since Vol. 3, No.3 they are also included into contents and means the following:

[HTML] - calls for HTML version of the paper

[HTML.ZIP] - calls for zipped file containing all components (additional HTML files and images called from the HTML version of the paper as well as inline images). This option is useful for those visitors who prefer to view paper on local machine in offline mode. Unzip file htmXXXXX.zip in a temporary directory and open tjeXXXXX.htm file in the browser window.

[PS] - calls for Postscript version of the paper

[PS.ZIP] - calls for zipped PS version.

[PDF] - call for PDF version of the paper.

Recommended viewers

For better of HTML version you are recommended to use Netscape 4.7 or Internet Explorer 4.0 browsers (or higher versions) with JavaScript option enabled.

For viewing PDF version you are recommended to use Acrobat Reader v. 4.0 or newer.

For viewing Postscript version you are recommended to use Ghostscript Viewer v 3.6 or newer.
