It’s the last book of the 3-volume publication about the foreign members of the Russian Academy of Sciences elected on geology and mining
since the Academy foundation. The history of geosciences is for the first time traced through the institution of foreign members –
a form of academician international relations. Articles about 127 scientists from 26 countries are real evidences of the history of
geosciences and of the international geological society with Russia as a part. All information resources – from archives to direct
contacts with scientists – were used to compile the book. Researchers can follow numerous references and indexes. Illustrated
articles intended for lecturers, geoscientists and historians of science, graduate and post-graduate students.
